Champion of Brands Bert Ray Memorial Trophy 2019

25th September 2019

A good weekend at Brands Hatch a couple of weeks ago. We won the Bert Ray Memorial Trophy for a second year in a row and was crowned Champion of Brands Winners in the process.

I struggled to get a gap in qualifying, and was hampered by traffic, but we ended up P3 for race one.

Race one was fantastic, starting third, I had a good start and gained a place on the first lap. Hitting traffic a few laps later I managed to briefly take the lead, before dropping back to second. I ultimately finished where I started in the end, with the three of us separated by just 0.4 seconds.

Race two promised to be another exciting race with lots more battles, but unfortunately the two cars in front of me touched going into turn one and were out of the race before it had really begun. As a result, the safety car was deployed and a few laps later we were racing once more. I kept it clean and consistent out front, finishing with a ten second lead. Obviously I was very happy to win the Bert Ray Memorial Trophy for a second year, but disappointed we didn’t have the same close battles as the previous race.

Overall another really great weekend and good preparation for the Formula Ford Festival next month.

A big thanks to Kevin Mills and Callum Gent for the great car!

Thank you James Beckett for the Podium Pics
